A comprehensive two-day professional development and technical certification program was
organized for the final year students of the Aeronautical Engineering Department on 21/7/2026
and 22/7/2026. Conducted in direct collaboration with industry representatives from Aviano
Private Limited, the program was designed to bridge the gap between academic curriculam and
the evolving demands of the global aviation sector. By combining practical career strategy with
fundamental maintenance concepts and real-world performance assessments, the initiative aimed
to enhance both the technical understanding and professional readiness of the participating
students.
The opening day of the program was structured into two distinct, highly informative sessions
engineered to address distinct facets of career preparation and industry practices. The morning
session commenced with an intensive module dedicated to technical resume construction tailored
specifically for the aerospace and defense sectors. Experts from Aviano Private Limited guided
students through the step-by-step process of articulating their engineering qualifications,
technical tool sets, and project work in a manner that resonates with industry recruiters. Special
emphasis was placed on translating academic achievements into clear, impact-driven statements,
ensuring that candidates could effectively present their skill sets on paper.
The afternoon session shifted focus toward the operational core of aeronautical engineering,
introducing students to the critical field of technical publications and maintenance operations.
The resource personnel provided a detailed overview of standard aviation documentation
manuals and compliance protocols that govern aircraft airworthiness. The session thoroughly
examined the three major tiers of aircraft maintenance: line maintenance, which involves fast-
turnaround, pre-flight, and minor troubleshooting checks on the flight line; base maintenance,
encompassing heavy, scheduled structural checks and deep-system inspections within hangar
facilities; and shop maintenance and overhaul, which deals with off-aircraft disassembly,
component repair, and complete recertification of major sub-systems and powerplants.
The second day was dedicated to practical evaluation, technical assessment, and the application
of the prior day's training. The morning began with a multi-disciplinary aptitude test designed to
gauge the candidates' baseline knowledge across three essential areas: technical English
communication, foundational aeronautical science, and engineering design principles. This
comprehensive examination served to test not only theoretical understanding of aerodynamics
and aircraft structures but also spatial reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and precision in
technical communication.
The certification program culminated in an immersive, full-class mock interview session
conducted by the representatives from Aviano Private Limited. Armed with the refined resumes
created under the guidance provided on the first day, each student participated in a simulated
corporate interview environment. The interviewers evaluated candidates on their technical
command, ability to articulate complex engineering concepts, professional presence, and
response under pressure. Concluding with individualized feedback and constructive
recommendations, the certification program provided the 4 th year students of the Aeronautical
Engineering Department with invaluable industry exposure, a clearer understanding of
maintenance frameworks, and heightened confidence for upcoming placement drives and
professional endeavors.
