Nation building through Institutional Responsibility

The program "Nation building through Institutional responsibility" was held on July 4, 2023, at Sashtra Hall, Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology campus. The function began with a welcome address by Dr. N. Gunasekaran, Principal of Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology. The lamp lighting ceremony marked the formal inauguration of the event. Dignitaries present at the ceremony included the Chairman and Managing Trustee of NGI, Dr. P Krishnadas; the CEO and Secretary of NGI, Dr. P. Krishnakumar; the sub-collector of Ottapalam, Ms. Dharmalasree IAS; Dr. Karibasapa, Principal of Nehru College of Engineering and Research Centre; Dr. N. Gunasekaran, Principal of Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology; and Dr. Thilakanandan, Principal of Nehru Academy of Law. During his address, the Chairman emphasized the importance of nation building and encouraged the youth to come up with ideas to serve society. He announced that Nehru Group of Institutions would adopt 25 tribal students from Attapady, who would be admitted to their preferred courses at Nehru College of Engineering and Research Centre, Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology, and arts and science colleges in Kerala. He urged the students to consider the tribal students as their equals and provide support for their upliftment. Ms. Dharmalasree, the sub-collector of Ottapalam, expressed her gratitude to the Chairman for adopting the tribal students. She enlightened the audience about the tribals, the importance of integrating them into mainstream society, and the need for empathy and support in this endeavour. The Chairman and Managing Trustee, Adv. Dr. P Krishnadas, then presented the Expression of Interest to Ms. Dharmalasree, IAS, the sub-collector. The CEO, Dr. P Krishnakumar, stressed the significance of nation building and the need to bring about development in all sections of life. He emphasized the role of education and institutional responsibility in shaping the future of the nation. He encouraged the students to take an active part in nation-building efforts and to utilize their skills and knowledge for the betterment of society. Dr. Karibasapa, Principal of Nehru College of Engineering and Research Centre, and Dr. Radhakrishnan, Advisor of NGI Kerala, delivered the felicitation speeches. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. C Thilakanandan, Principal of Nehru Academy of Law.
