Industrial visit by S7 students

The Department of Agricultural Engineering organised an educational visit to Deesan Farms, Meenakshipuram, on 1 October 2026 to provide students (S7 B.Tech Agr. Engg.) with practical exposure to waste management practices in an integrated and sustainable agricultural system. Deesan Farms is a 36-acre sustainable agricultural farm that follows a zero-waste management approach. The farm incorporates various sustainable practices, including mulching, biogas production, composting, Jeevamritham preparation, and solar drying. It also undertakes the production of value-added products such as coconut oil, virgin coconut oil, hair oil, cosmetic products, ghee, jaggery, millets, and flaked millets. The visit provided students with valuable practical insights into sustainable agriculture, efficient waste utilisation, and value addition of farm produce. It was an enriching learning experience that enhanced their understanding of integrated farm management and environmentally sustainable practices.
